Asperger thoughts on the beach

Aspergers on the beach

The  beach is the only place where people are as honest as a person with Aspergers because they have nowhere to hide what they consider their imperfections of their bodies.

The beach can also be over simulating, water sand, bikini that man clearly can’t pull of a speedo. Nevermind, a nude beach.

Especially for those who can’t stand loud noises. Seagulls, babies oh my. What a headache.

We sometimes wish we could behave like ostriches and bury our heads in the sand or in a women’s cleavage. Unfortunately, most cleavage a person can find near Winnipeg belongs to someone’s 80 year old grand-ma. Which is fine if your 10 or 80 but makes people of all other ages between feel extremely awkward and perturbed. We get fascinated by the word perturbed. I have not consulted other people with Aspergers about whether or not they get betwiched by this word therefore am relying on my own personal experience.

Especially when all the mosquitoes start swarming oh boy. That is a time where you don’t want to be near an autistic person.

We also have a tendency to become extremely focused, people who tell us not to stare are simply being intolerant.

We like the feeling of different textures such as the coolness and dampness of the grass and the steaming heat of the sand and the coolness of the water but we hate the mosquitos.

We hate it when people destroy our sand castles more than other people because of our intense level of focus.

Most people think like the Rainman that we will try to count the grains of sand at the beach, this is a misconception; just like that all African-American men can dunk a basketball, or that all Chinese are masters of kung-fu or that all white women will look like Nicole Kidman or Natalie Portman. Unfortunately, this is more of a representation of people’s stupidity than objective reality.

Also, we may decide to participate in beach activities like beach volleyball if this is the case never leave us to get picked last no matter that we most likely have poor hand-eye-cooridination and will more likely lead to your defeat than victory we  already feel like we are  snubbed by God please don’t make things worse.
